An event that I’ve been a part of since the beginning and one that is truly important to me. This benefits the less fortunate kids as all the toys collected are redistributed during the holidays to assure they have a pleasant celebration. Organized by a good friend of mine, I usually volunteer for this toy drive but unfortunately will not be back in time this year.
However, if you are in the area, please come out to support the kids. Don’t forget your unwrapped toy as well! Oh, and the cars are pretty neat as well!
SuperCar Sunday!!!!
A bit off topic from the norm but thought I’d share a bit about my other passion, sports cars. Arguably, one of the best weekly car events held here in Southern California may be SuperCar Sunday located at the Westfield Promenade Mall in Woodland Hills. A good friend of mine, Dustin Troyan, started this event over a decade ago with a few dozen cars in the parking lot of a strip mall and has quickly expanded to several hundred cars in a mall lot. It is a weekly gathering that takes place every Sunday from 7am-10am with the biggest show being the last Sunday of the month.
While there are your share of Ferrari, Lambo, and (insert high end car brand here), it is usually a good mix of cars from all over the spectrum. Everything from Mini Coopers to Hot Rods have their groups here for people to check out. Yesterday, however, was a special day as it was designated Porsche Marque day and it did not disappoint. The whole lot of Porsche cars were on display from modified race cars to the Carrera GT and my favorite, the highly acclaimed 911 GT3 RS 4.0. It was definitely a treat to see the beauty of all these cars in one place.
For anyone who loves cars or just wants to walk around in a friendly atmosphere, feel free to come out. The best thing about it? Free of charge…just please respect the rules. Enjoy the pictures.
